Lesson 1: What is it and where is it?
Activity 1)
First you need to conduct some primary research to find out more about the Anzacs. You will need to research and answer the following background questions:
- Who are the ANZACS and what does the word ANZAC stand for?
- Where did they Land?
- Was it a successful Landing?
Activity 2)
- What is your name?
- What town or Parish were you born?
These were the first two questions asked on an enlistment form to join the Australian Imperial Force. You will now, using the blank form provided, fill out an enlistment form and join the war effort.
NOTE: Parish = Suburb, Town = City, and County = State.
Activity 3)
- Where are you going?
Trace the outline of Turkey from the blank map provided into your workbooks, research and locate the position of Gallipoli and label it on your map with a red dot.
